The Seasoned Coffee Mug on Memorial Day
Memorial Day is a US federal holiday observed on the last Monday of May, which honors military personnel who have died. As a military brat, this holiday is a rather important one for me. The rituals I normally engage in to honor family members in uniform who have passed, I can’t due to stay-at-home orders. After thoughtful consideration, I realized that one way I can pay tribute to them is through the time-honored Naval practice of not washing my coffee mug.

The Hulk and Posttraumatic Growth
Recently I was interviewed by Christine Killmer, aka “Christine the Middle-Aged Fangirl” of Project FanCare, a non-profit helping people with mental illness learn how to use their pop-culture passions to improve their mental health. Watch the interview to learn how I use The Hulk as an incredible example of posttraumatic growth and trauma resiliency.
